GENG GONG - NOT JUST MUSIC

GENG GONG used to play often in Bandung, I saw them a bunch of times and every concert I saw from them was fantastic. I don't think they're active as a unit anymore. This is an incredible cd, a perfect mix between Western and Indonesian music, Reza Achman, Sawung Jabo, Ron Reeves and Kim Sanders, ripped for you at 320 kbps...

UJANG BEY & OTHERS - JAIPONG 2010

JAIPONGAN as a genre has been through some rough times lately. The governor of West-Java tried to ban it a few years ago and from what I hear and have read the artists have around 50% less income since that happened. Also, many people these days prefer to have Dangdut at their (wedding) parties... From what I see in my kampung somewhere in West-Java, Jaipong is alive and well, people here still have lots of ceremonies where Jaipong is played... Here's a beautiful cassette with some incredible Jaipong from KARAWANG with the great UJANG BEY and a whole lot of others... It's just out so I'm only going to give you two incredible songs, you can buy it in music stores in Java...

How far deep the rabbit hole do you want to go? This is an incredible cd, it's just out and it's all on a very small scale so I'm only going to give one song, let these guys sell their copies first. MUS MULYADI / ARGA GROUP

Here's a split cassette, side A is from MUS MULYADI and on the second side is an interesting band called the ARGA GROUP, never heard of them and can't find anything googling them either, they get pretty "PROGGY" at times and the guys in the shop where I bought this said one of the members had something to do with Prog-rockers ARIESTA IRAWA GROUP but I see nothing on the tape to verify that... Unfortunately the tape broke down while recording the MUS MULYADI side so there's three of those songs missing... ripped at 320...
